little bug.
I had a little bug in the music player last night. I had come out of it, went back in - picked a track - and - silence. but the track was playing.  Pressed volume up and it started playing ok.  The volume was already on 3/4 of max.  But it needed the press of the volume key for it to kick in. new firmware will be your friend! :)

Just tried to read a QRcode (on a can of pepsi!) and damn - no barcode scanning software on the 5800 :(

tap vs tap-tap....
During and after my email syncing hanging pain, i found it took sometime to get used to the double tap on some items vs single tap on others.  Double tap is tottaly unintuitive on a touch device - I can’t think of any other touch interfaces that use double tap? The first bit of software I installed was slick IM - found on a google of 5800 apps, as i had not heard of it before. It’s free ( well the beta currently is anyway)  and works - install the 3rd edition version and it’s fine.  get it here. first bit of user experience...
After unboxing My first task was to get my contacts and email on the 5800.  First stop for contacts - ovi, opps no contact syncing available yet. No problem ill use iSync. a quick google, one tiny download and woosh, contact are all on.  Not in mobile me/G1 cloud syncing lovelyness- but standard and just works.  Also something lots of ‘normobs’ dont even realise they can do. Next up...
